Mandla Reuter – No Such St at Galleria Francesca Minini

A Lift (2013) introduces you to the solo show in the form of an obstacle, an unusual ‘naked’ object right in the middle of the entrance, like a monolith. Reuter likes Surrealism a lot, for sure: an alienating elevator cabin brings you down – to be honest, not literally – to his own intimate place, reproduced in a corner of the small room, next to the famous blueprints called Untitled (2013). In that room, you can lay down and relax on his mattress, watching a One Million Years (2012) sunset. Reuter puts his own deep dimension in Galleria Francesca Minini and points at the non-place he lives in: no map reference point, “No Such St”.
