Lovorka Lukani: Papir Pamti – The Paper Remembers, Museum of the Poreč territory

Through an experimental printmaking technique, Lovorka Lukani researches the possibilities of the white area of paper. She doesn’t use any pigments, the images printed onto the paper are only visible through a play of light and shadow. The found objects, often trash, are directly impressed onto the paper. The result is an ephemeral, almost sculptural object that goes beyond the readymade and concentrates to the trace that the everyday leaves.

Along with the artwork in which she deals with space, the artist presents a series of works in which she turns at herself and her intimate sphere (e.g. prints of bobby pins, underwear and even her own hair). Her persona is the plate she uses to make prints on paper.
