Luisa Lambri, New Works at Studio Guenzani

“New works” – watch closely: what’s “new” in this brand new exhibition by Luisa Lambri at Studio Guenzani Gallery? Instead of focusing on modern architecture, as she used to do, here Lambri pays attention to artworks by Donald Judd, Dan Flavin and Lucio Fontana. Four rooms for the three of them: a triptych made of three pictures of the same Concetto Spaziale showing three cut marks, and a dyptich of a single-cut work. Then you’re supposed to find Judd’s steels and a Flavin’s lamp, but all you have is a series of… artwork details. If Claudio Guenzani – the owner of the gallery – was interested in a continuity of unrecognizable details, what’s new? Watch even closer, the real “new” here is space within space, light within light, artwork within artwork.
