ECAL Photography: New and old shots at Carla Sozzani Gallery
From still lifes to portraits on monochrome backgrounds, to return to lomography and step into analog: those shots that build the current visual culture that passes through the filters of Instagram and Tumblr. On show in Milan at Carla Sozzani Gallery in Corso Como 10, there is a selection of photographic works created by the students of one of the best schools of art and design in Europe: ECAL in Lausanne, Switzerland, which forms visual artists, video makers, photographers, graphic artists, and designers. An art school is an image factory. New generations of artists are constantly emerging, joining the marathon of exhibitions and publications from the very first years of their creative lives. In this context, the art school has become a particularly attractive place for ambitious young artists. The photos were arranged in a particular way. The exhibition itinerary is achieved to renew the usual static photo display, giving the perception to be in front of a unique sceneographic installation. Moreover, it also shows some funny videos that introduce us to the visual imagery of the school.
