The broken balance of power in Hachem’s work

Money and control are concentrated in few hands. Most people are left powerless. Pascal Hachem is an artist completely focused on his time. He observes the world and he represents its wrongness with a comprehensible style. In his works, Hachem uses everyday objects: work instruments, shoes, glasses. These items are bent, so they lose their common function to become metaphors for the social abuse. In this way the artist tells about the contradictions of this world. A world where the greed for resources touches off bloody wars. So the Lebanese artist recalls the Arab countries that are upset for the oil wars.
