Michela Alessandrini
Michela Alessandrini (b. 1987, Tivoli) lives and works in Geneva. She obtained a MA in Contemporary Art History at Sapienza University in Rome and participated to Session 22 of the Ecole du Magasin, International Curatorial Training Program in Grenoble. She has been curator in residence at Labor Guest Space in Budapest and ERG's Gallery in Brussels. Her researches deal with the interview as a curatorial tool. Her interest lies in the possibility of re-using archival datas, resulting from an act of accumulation.
"The Portrait Room" aims to present the mixed panorama of people Michela Alessandrini meets and interviews when going through the art scene of different European cities. This coloumn appears therefore as a fragmented and personal path through the artworld and its actors, a challenging discovery of the plurality of voices within artworkers and artists' chorus. Its very personal and carefree style aims to humanization and sympathy, each of the interviews representing a further step into the author's professional self-definition.
