Art Tour | Frieze New York 2016 in photos
Frieze New York 2016 just opened to the public on Randall’s Island, a 5 minute ferry ride from Upper Manhattan. The art fair will run until Sunday, May 8.
Among the art fair’s sections, Frame is dedicated to emerging galleries, and Focus to «Innovative curated presentations by the world’s most exciting young talents».
This year for Frieze Projects, a program of site-specific artist commissions curated by Cecilia Alemani, new commissions by Alex Da Corte, Anthea Hamilton, David Horvitz, Eduardo Navarro, Heather Phillipson, plus a tribute to Daniel Newburg Gallery by Maurizio Cattelan. Daniel Newburg Gallery was an artist-run project that operated in New York between 1984 and 1994. For this tribute, Cattelan restaged his installation Enter at Your Own Risk—Do Not Touch, Do Not Feed, No Smoking, No Photographs, No Dogs, Thank you from 1994.
Here a photographic walk-through of Frieze New York 2016 with exhibition views of selected artwork and galleries from different sections.
